|trista_marie||06:09 pm - I am a nerd, but bear with me|
I am obsessed with this Sandman comic series. Neil Gaiman is already working on a screenplay for his comic called "Books of Magic" but he should totally do a Sandman movie. I have the actors all picked out for each of The Endless. Most of them are unrealistic, but let's remember this is just for fun. lol
I thought she could either be played by me simply because that was an awful high school nickname of mine by default, or that actress named Fairuza Balk. She's a real actress so maybe that would work better?
I look at all of his pictures and all I can picture is Chuck Norris. I don't even like Chuck Norris. But it would be a good part for him to play.
I don't know this little girl's name but she played "Sarah" in the original "The Crow" movie. Keep her at that age, streak her hair, and make her completely nuts and you've got little Delirium.
I look at her boobs and all I can think of is Kathy Bates. *shudder*
Since you can't tell if desire is a man or a woman and desire is pretty well...desirable... I thought and thought about this and I picked Miyavi, even though he can't speak English, probably never picked up a Sandman comic in his life, and is definitely not an actor.
Destiny is sort of old, and wise. I picture him to be pretty monotoned, and kind of cryptic. I saw Dustin Hoffman in that Joan of Arc movie where he played, possibly, God. And the way he dressed just reminded me of Destiny. He would play the part very well.
And last but not least, For Dream...the main character of the comic. THE Sandman:
I almost said Johnny Depp but he's not quite dark enough. He's more quirky and kind of goofy. Jonathan Rhys Meyers always seemed really dark to me. Granted, in most movies I've seen him in he plays a negative role, or even just perhaps the bad guy (e.g. in Titus he played one of the barbarian brothers who raped a young woman, chopped off her hands, and shoved tree branches into her stumps). Dream is pretty dark, but he's not a bad guy. He's the main character who falls in and out of the scenarios that Gaiman creates throughout the comic. Dream is pretty neutral, and somewhat uncaring of the lives he affects as the series goes on. Jonathan Rhys Meyers gives off that sort of dark, cold, uncaring, neutral vibe. I think he'd work just fine for the part.
God, I know I'm a nerd for thinking of this but seriously it would be a great movie as long as Gaiman has full control of the screenplay.
Current Mood: nerdy
p.s. have you seen Mirror Mask yet? that's a movie that was just released and Neil Gaiman worked on it as well. He basically teamed up with Jim Henson's creature shop and made the movie. Check it out on imdb.com and watch the trailer!! ;)
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm hoping to: I got the "graphic novella" based off it as my Hallowe'en present for myself.
I haven't seen it yet either. It only came to landmark theaters and the one landmark theater we have in St. Louis is really shitty and it overcharges. You figure...for two tickets it will cost me 16 bucks. I might as well wait for the dvd which will probably cost 20.
